Donors needed for community blood drive

The Tuttle Times

TUTTLE Community members are encouraged to come out and help replenish the local blood supply for the Oklahoma Blood Institute on Wednesday, May 9 from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

This blood drive is sponsored by the Tuttle Student Council, who has accepted the challenge set out by other community schools to see which community could have the most blood donated.

“Tuttle has always been the best at everything - especially blood drives,” said Tiffany Foster, Tuttle High School Student Council president. “We have to beat Newcastle and Bridge Creek, to defend the pride and honor of our town. Everybody needs to give blood so that we can win.”

To make this the most successful blood drive ever, the student council has changed the location to the Tuttle First United Methodist Church on Cimarron Road.

Because of the current construction at the high school entrance and because the gymnasium is not air-conditioned, this location will be much more convenient for what is expected to be the community’s largest blood drive ever.

The Tuttle Student Council is encouraging all parents, teachers, churches, community businesses, and all healthy adults who weigh at least 105 pounds to help out in this effort.

This is the main blood supply for the local areas, and everyone is encouraged to do their part to make sure the supply is there when it is needed.

For more information, contact Susan Reedy at the high school at 381-2396.
