Drugs, abuse fill Grady court docket

On April 7, Tommy Joe Haile pled guilty to all five of his felony cases. Haile's 2004 case for manufacturing controlled dangerous substances was set for Jury Trial on this docket. Haile was released from jail in 2004 due to health problems. While on release, Haile repeatedly continued dealing illegal drugs in Grady County leading to the filing of four additional drug related felony cases. Haile pled guilty to two counts of possession of CDS with intent to distribute, 2 counts and one count of manufacturing CDS in 2004, plus a 2005 count of possession of CDS, a 2007 case of trafficking in CDS and two counts of possession of CDS in a 2008 case. The jury trial for Roy Sanchez began on April 14 and ended on April 17. The jury found Sanchez not guilty of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Sanchez’s suspended sentence in his 2005 domestic abuse - assault and battery case was previously revoked by the court at the request of the State in August of 2007 for probation violations.
