This year’s festivities kick-off with a parade on July 4 at 10 a.m. from Sooner State Bank, traveling through downtown Tuttle to Schrock Park. The parade will highlight the Citizen of the Year and the Ice Cream Princess Pageant contestants. Registration for the parade will open at 9 a.m. at the Tuttle High School. Pre-registration is not required but recommended and there is no fee to be in the parade.
The day will begin when Schrock Park opens at 9 a.m. One of the highlights of the festival is Braum’s ice cream. This years festival highlights a few of the new Braum’s flavors like Brownie Batter and White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake. Additional flavors available for $1.50 per scoop will be: Carb Watch Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Chocolate Almond, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Mint Chocolate Chip, Cherry Limeade Sherbet and Lime Sherbet.
For the children, the festival offers inflatables, a clown, and a children’s tent with free activities. The children may seek a “brain freeze” in the Ice Cream Eating Contest to be held at noon. The children may also enter a turtle in the Turtle Race which begins at 2 p.m. Sign-up for these two events will be at the Chamber Hospitality Booth.
Adults will enjoy shopping the many booths at the festival. Adults may also try their luck in the adult Ice Cream Eating Contest which will be held in conjunction with the children’s ice cream eating contest at noon. Some great prizes have been contributed for participants of this contest. Event sign-up will also be at the Hospitality Booth.
This year there will be Hot Air Balloon Rides. Festival goers can get the grand view of the park and the festival in a tethered hot air balloon. Rides will be available from approximately 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., weather permitting, for $20 per person.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the day until the Ice Cream Princess Pageant begins, which is scheduled for 5 p.m. At 7 p.m., the festival committee will recognize all armed service personnel in attendance. Individuals may register at the Hospitality Booth. From 7:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., there will be a free concert featuring Etowah Road.
Fireworks will begin at dusk.
