Fourth District Congressman Tom Cole will be attending the Tuttle Ice Cream Festival on July 4. During the evening's Armed Forces Recognition, Congressman Cole will be presenting brothers Don and Darrell Prince with a Bronze Star medal. The brothers will be accepting the star on behalf of their late father Coy E. Prince.
Coy Prince served his country during World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the United States Army 1st Medical Squadron, 5th Calvary Regiment. While serving he earned the Combat Medical Badge, among other distinguished awards. On April 17, 2008, the United States Army upgraded this award posthumously to the Bronze Star Medal due to Coy Prince's "meritorious achievement in military operations against an armed enemy of the United States." His citation reads, "Prince's exemplary performance of duty in active ground combat was in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 5th Calvary Regiment, and the Army of the United States."
Please come out to the event to support the heroic actions of Coy Prince and honor all of our nation's heroes.
