Soda Shoppe serves up nostalgia

Karen Brady
The Tuttle Times

Tuttle residents will soon be enjoying old favorites like ice cream, cherry ices and salty frogs at the new Star Soda Shoppe on Main Street.

Although the vintage building has undergone extensive renovations, the soda shop retains the feel of bygone days with its tall ceilings and old-fashioned soda fountain.

“We’ve ordered furniture, the tile’s done and the bathrooms are finished,” said soda shop manager-to-be Joeda Gregory. “We are hoping to be open by fall break.”

And, while the fountain treats will be the usual sugary fare, the rest of the menu is a diverse mixture of health-conscious soups, sandwiches salads and fruit.

“We’ll be open early for coffee and breakfast items, and we’ve got the menu just about set,” Gregory said.
