After a week on the job, Tim Young, Tuttle’s new city manager, says things are going really well.
“Everyone’s been great and very welcoming,” Young said. “I’ve been interacting with the staff to get a feel for what they do and I’ve getting to know the people.”
Young also said he has been trying to get an understanding of the various projects underway in the city.
“It’s a good time to be here with all the projects going on,” he said.
According to Young, about 80 percent of the new water lines are already in place, and “the water treatment plant is scheduled for a spring completion date.”
In addition, the city council is expected to take action on the proposed bond issue within the next several weeks, Young said.
“My expectations of Tuttle are right on,” he said. “It’s a smaller town with a smaller staff, but there’s a lot of good people working for the city who have the city’s best interests at heart.”
Young, who previously worked as Assistant City Manager for the City of Durant, was hired by the Tuttle City council on Aug. 28.
