Harvest Ball set for Oct.15

Harry Coffman and the Southwest Swing will perform at the Harvest Ball Western Swing Dance on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Yukon Czech Hall, 215 N. Czech Hall Road in Yukon, just south of Interstate 40.

Harry Coffman played with Johnnie Lee Wills, the brother of Bob Wills leader of the nationally known Texas Playboys, who led one of the most popular western swing bands around Oklahoma.

Harry Coffman will play with members of the Western Swing Association of the Southwest. This will be a great concert with music to make you want to jump onto the dance floor.

The Harvest Ball is sponsored by the Friends of the Mustang Public Library.  Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door or in advance at the Mustang Public Library, at 1201 N. Mustang Rd. in Mustang.

“Our annual western swing dance concert is always a fun event,” says event chairman Kenneth Bales. “Everyone enjoys putting on their cowboy boots and dancing to the Harry Coffman and Southwest Swing. It’ll be a grand evening.

“We will also have a silent auction,” says Bales. “The Friends of the Library will donate the proceeds to purchase new materials for the Mustang Public Library.”

For more information about the Harvest Ball or to donate items for the silent auction, please call Kenneth Bales at 821-2821 or the Mustang Public Library at 376-2226.
