Dog handler enjoys success
The WindRidge German Shepherd Dream Team, Dream Katcher of WindRidge and Follow Your Dreams of WindRidge, had a successful debut at the Lawton Dog Fanciers Association show this past weekend.
Katcher, handled by Jessica Riffe of Blanchard, was awarded Winners Bitch and Best of Breed for her first Championship point under the esteemed judge, James E. Fredricksen. Dreamer, handled by Laur'en Jordan, was awarded Reserve Winners Bitch from the Puppy Class under the highly regarded judge, Dorothy K. Christiansen.
Laur'en also showed in Junior Showmanship on Saturday showing her Pointer, CH Golden's Call Me Seigfried "Ziggy,” and Sunday showing her Siberian Husky, Zvezda's Cosmic Ray "Cosmo.”
Both days she placed third behind two of her dog show friends, Lauren Moore of Norman and Karlee Howard of Edmond. Laur'en also showed Cosmo in regular competition, and both days he was awarded Reserve Winners Dog.
The Jordan family was very proud of both of their new show youngsters. Katcher and Dreamer are a wonderful combination of everything the Windridge Kennel is striving to breed: stable temperament, correct conformation and exceptional health.
The next show for these girls will be in Chickasha in November when two new puppies, Witch Hunter of WindRidge (aka Hunter) and WindRidge Disciple of Khaine (aka Khaine) will join the WindRidge show team. The Chickasha show will be held at the Grady County Fair grounds on Nov. 12-15.
