McDoulett earns Eagle Scout rank

Rowdy Colt McDoulett, a seventh-grader at Tuttle Middle School, received his Eagle Scout Rank at a Court of Honor Ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009 held at the Tuttle Elementary School cafeteria.

After completing his Eagle project at Scrock Park, where he refurbished a flower bed and installed a 40-foot flag pole, Rowdy was approved as an Eagle Scout on Aug. 6, nine days before his 13th birthday, becoming one of the youngest Eagle Scouts in America.

More than two hundred friends, family and fellow scouts attended the ceremony honoring Rowdy's achievement. Tuttle Mayor Bobby Williams and Tuttle School Superintendent Lee Coker were also among the guests.

Rowdy received letters of commendation from the F.B.I, Pope Benedict XVI, Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry, former President George H.W. Bush, former President George W. Bush, former President Jimmy Carter and the City of Tuttle.

The ceremony was more than Rowdy could have imagined and was an inspiration to other Scouts who hope to also attain the rank of Eagle Scout someday.

Rowdy and his family would like to say thank you to everyone who has been part of his scouting experiences and who have helped him reach his goal.
