Çounty TEA Party to meet
Grady Çounty TEA Party will meet on Thursday, Dec. 3, 7 p.m. at Canadian Valley Tech Center, 1401 Michigan in Chickasha. Rep. Leslie Osborn of Tuttle will be answering questions. After Prom committee to meet
The Tuttle After Prom meeting will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2 in the high school gym lobby. All parents of Tuttle juniors and seniors are welcome to attend.
Basketball Boosters to meet
The Tuttle Basketball Boosters will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6 in the high school gym lobby.
Christmas parade is Dec. 3
The Main Street Committee will host the first annual Lighted Christmas Parade on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. Following the parade will be a tree lighting ceremony downtown with live entertainment and Santa Claus. Grief Share meetings set
Grief Share support group meetings will be held Mondays at 7 p.m. at the Tuttle Christian Church from Oct. 12 until Dec. 12. For more information, call 381-2286.
Learning Center offers classes
Free GED prep, adult basic education and family literacy classes are offered in Tuttle, Mustang and Newcastle. These classes are for adults who need to work on basic educational skills or prepare for their GED. In Tuttle, the classes meet on Tuesday and Thursday, 6-9 p.m. at the Tuttle High School; in Mustang, the classes meet on Monday 5:30 - 8 p.m. and Tuesday 12:30 - 3 p.m. at the Mustang Wild Horse Towne Center; and in Newcastle, the classes are held from 5:30 - 8 p.m. For more information, call 405-222-6562.
GED test dates schedule
Oklahoma high school diploma exam schedule for fall 2009 includes these dates Dec. 8-10. The GED Test Site is at the Adult Learning Center, 628 Kansas Ave., Chickasha. The cost is $65 test fee; $40 retest fee. Everyone is required to call and reserve a testing date. A rescheduling fee of $25 will be added for those failing to give 24 hours cancellation notice.
Photo I.D. required to complete the application and each time to take the Exam. The Exam begins at 5:30 p.m. Apply in person at the Adult Learning Center or at one of the other class sites. English as a second language
An adult (16 years and older) based class for individuals whose first language is NOT English is held Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Mustang. Enroll in person for free class. Call 405-222-6562 for information.
GED Prep “Distance Learning”
Open enrollment for the GED/Distance Learning can be made by contacting the Adult Learning Center, 628 W. Kansas, Chickasha. Students must have reliable internet access with email address, possess basic computer skills, maintain a working phone connection, pre and post-test taken at the ALC, work a minimum of six hours weekly, possess a high level of motivation, score a minimum of 8.0 TABE pre-assessment and 9.0 on reading pre--assessment.
