Band members audition for Honor Band
Twelve Tuttle Band Members traveled to Snyder, Oklahoma, on Saturday, Dec. 13 to audition for the Shortgrass Band Directors Association Honor Band.
Approximately 300 band members from across southwest Oklahoma attended the auditions for the coveted Honor Band positions.
Tuttle Band members included Gary Gottman, Ben Puritun, Marshall Scott, Madison Sullivan, Chelsie Black, Easton Poplin, Dylan Routh, Zachary Welch, Paul Curtis, Caleb Scott, Raven Shirley and Thane Whitford.
Members who were selected will be attending an intensive two-day Music Clinic to be held March 12 and 13 in Elk City. Guest conductors will work with concert bands who will perform publicly on March 13 at 6 p.m. at the Elk City Performing Arts Center.
Seventh Grade Tuttle Band members who were chosen for the Seventh Grade Shortgrass Honor Band are Gary Gottman (11th chair trumpet), Ben Puritun (sixth chair trumpet), Marshall Scott (sixth chair trombone) and Madison Sullivan (ninth chair trumpet).
Eighth and ninth grade Tuttle Band members who were chosen for the Junior High Shortgrass Honor Band are Easton Poplin (eighth chair Percussion), Dylan Routh (sixth chair trumpet) and Zachary Welch (fourth chair trumpet).
