Christopher Redding

Christopher Neil Redding, 32, of Tuttle passed away at his home on Jan. 6, 2010.

Chris was born Dec. 19, 1977, in Oklahoma City to Michael G. and Paula Keeton Redding.

He received his degree in Applied Sciences from Oklahoma State University in 1999, and became ill a short time after.

Chris touched many people in his life, although he was always suffering with severe pain, everyone he knew said he was one the most kind and loving persons they had ever known. One proud act of heroism that, as parents, made us so very proud. In 1999, Chris and Brother Nick, pulled two Tuttle policemen from their flame-engulfed vehicle and saved both of their lives. They were awarded with the Key to the City of Tuttle and a “Chris and Nick Redding Day” from the City of Tuttle. They were also nominated for a Carnegie award and received many other awards.

Chris is preceded in death by his Grandpa Herschel Redding of Ft. Smith, Ark., his Papa John Keeton of Van Buren and his loving sister, Cara Michelle Redding, who went to be with our Lord in 1980. Chris will be laid to rest next to his sister and his Papa Keeton.

Chris is survived by his parents, his brother, Nicholas, of Newcastle, his sister-in-law Brenda Hendricks Redding and his Nephew, Landyn Chase Redding, age 3, son of Nick and Brenda, who was the love and center of Chris’s life. Chris is also survived by grandparents (Nanny) Betsy Keeton Love and Grandfather Butch Love of Van Buren, Ark. and Grandma Ailene Redding of Ft. Smith, Ark.

Chris had several aunts and uncles who meant so much to him, including his Aunt Mary Keeton Gray and Uncle Mike Gray of Garfield, Ark., Aunt Becky Redding Cochran and Uncle Larry Cochran of Ft. Smith, Ark., Uncle Billy Keeton and Aunt Sharon Keeton of Phoenix, Ariz.

Chris had several cousins whom we believe need to know how much they meant to him, including Angela Gray Long and husband Steve, Jonathan Gray and wife Kristen, Lindsey Gray Drain, and husband Jackie, Ryan Keeton and wife Lauren, Kevin Cochran, Tim Cook and Tracy Barrett.

Memorial services will be held at Grace Lawn Cemetery, 3003 Oak Lane, in Van Buren, Ark. at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16.

There will be a luncheon following the Memorial Services at the First Baptist Church, 1121 Main St., in Van Buren. Arrangements will be made by OK Cremation and Mortuary Services.

You may sign our registry by accessing: WWW.OKCREMATION.com for the following two weeks. Click on the Obituaries tab, select Christopher and then click on the Guest Book, to put your comments. This site will be available for approximately two weeks.
