Funeral services for Violet Marie Canary, 85, of Newcastle were held Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 at the Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Newcastle.

Violet Marie Canary was born Feb. 1, 1924 in Bowlegs, Oklahoma the daughter of Oscar and Bettie (West) Miller. She died January 25, 2010 at the Tuttle Care Center.

She and Oliver James Canary were married Sept. 21, 1940 in Blanchard.

Violet lived her life in the Newcastle and Bridge Creek areas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver James Canary, her parents, two sisters and a brother.

She is survived by daughters Betty Noles and husband, Ernest, of Newcastle and

Ruby Kuhlman and husband, Ron, also of Newcastle, grandchildren Norma Noles, Lee Kuhlman, and Rebecca Menken, great grandchildren grandchildren Kyle, Tasha, Aliana, Cherokee, Jacob, Hannah and Micah and two great great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Blanchard Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.
