ROY DON GAN and JOHNATHAN RAY GAN

Funeral services for Roy Don Gan, 49 and Johnathan Ray Gan, 25 father and son, both of Minco were held on Saturday, February 24, 2007, 2 pm at the First Baptist Church in Minco with Rev. David Mercer of Minco United Methodist Church officiating.

Roy was born March 22, 1957 at Waynesville, Missouri to Roy Glenn Gan and Shirley Ann (Bartlett) Gan. Roy and Johnathan died Monday, February 19, 2007 in a tragic car accident, other son David still in ICU Presbyterian Hospital in OKC.

Roy had lived in the Minco-Cogar communities since 1993 coming from Choctaw. Roy married La Donna (McLaughlin) on May 28, 1976 at Glencoe, Oklahoma. Both Roy and Johnathan worked in concrete construction together, along with David, son in hospital.

Johnathan was born on April 10, 1981 at Oklahoma City to Roy Dan and La Donna Gan.

Survivors include: Wife and mother La Donna Gan of the home in Minco; two sons and brothers: David of the home in Minco and Michael and Tonya Gan of Minco; one daughter and sister: Michelle Gan of the home in Minco; three grandchildren and nieces and nephew: Blake Michael Gan, Ashley Dawn Gan and Mercedes Castro.

Roy’s siblings: two brothers and sisters-in-law: Carl and Angela Gan of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Steven and Tammy Gan of Louisiana; six sisters and three brothers-in-law: Rose Ann and Roger Reed of Conway, Ark., Jettie Gan and Teresa Gan both of Branson, Missouri, Glenda Jean Gan of Lebanon, Missouri, Nancy and L. D. Asbil of Glencoe, OK, Elizabeth and Bobbie Roberson of Stillwell, OK.

Burial in Hazel Dell Cemetery, NW of Minco.



JAMES ROBERT HORN

Graveside services for James Robert Horn, 85 of Minco were held Wednesday, February 28, 2007, 10 am at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco with Rev. Brent Lauder of the First Reformed Presbyterian Church in Minco officiating under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

James Robert Horn was born May 28, 1921 at Minco to Wiley Bruce and Ethel Laura (Carrell) Horn and died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Chickasha.

Mr. Horn was a lifelong resident of Minco and a member of the First Baptist Church in Minco. He worked as the manager of the Miller Grain Elevator and after retiring he worked as a farmer. Mr. Horn served in the United States Army during WWII. He married Mary Laverne Balke on March 1, 1960 at Minco.

Mr. Horn was preceded in death by: Parents; wife Laverne on December 9, 2005; sister-in-law: Jerry Horn.

He is survived by: One daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Larry Brown of Minco; one brother: Junior Horn of Minco; two grandchildren: Robbie and wife Jana Brown of Minco, Tiffany Ann Brown of Minco.



EVELYN MARIE LEE

Evelyn Marie Lee, 74, of Oklahoma City, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007 at her home.

Evelyn was born on June 2, 1932 in Fredonia, Kan. She was the older of two children born to Matthew Lock and Ada Vanda Sophia Haltia Lock. She grew up in Henryetta, Okla. and graduated from St. Michael Catholic School there.

She married Johnny Logan Gorham. Together they had three children; two were infants that preceded her in death.

She lived in Oklahoma City most of her life and had worked at various jobs. She first began working for a phone company then she worked many years as a cashier for Eckard Drug. She was currently working at the I-240 Wal-Mart where she worked as a greeter.

For her enjoyment she loved to play bingo and travel to Las Vegas annually. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed by her grandchildren who she loved to spend time with and spoil.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant children.

She is survived by her son, Logan Gorham and wife Kelli of Tuttle, Okla.; two grandchildren, Ashley and Ty Gorham; her brother, Danny Locke and wife Karen of Henryetta, Okla.; and a host of friends.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Newcastle. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle.



LEON EUGENE MCDONALD

Leon Eugene “Mac” McDonald, born September 29, 1934, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the age of 72. Mac, born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was a former resident of Newcastle, Oklahoma and a resident of San Antonio, Texas most of his life. He joined the United States Air Force, and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.

He and Deloris Ann Bowman were married September 29, 1954 in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Two of his greatest passions in life were his family and fishing. He always stated that he was leaving too many fish at Port Mansfield.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bonnie Kirkham; uncle, Willis Kirkham; aunt and uncle, Audrey and Roy Haswell; mother, Mildred Robbins; father, Wilbur Leon Mc Donald; brother, Bob McDonald; sister, Gloria Jean Olsen; father and mother-in-law, Clyde and Bertha Bowman; brothers-in-law, Matt Jones and Jim Robinett.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Deloris; daughters; Vicki Stroman and husband Roy,

Debbie Bryan and husband Steve, and Connie Perkins and husband John; grandchildren; Scott Stroman, Tabatha and Mario Guerra, Micheal Kiolbassa, Crystal Perkins, Justin Perkins, Kaytie Bryan, Dennie and Bryan Howard, and Shauna and Fermin Timothee; great-grandchildren; Russell Kiolbassa and Brena Adele Guerra; brothers and sisters; Ronnie McDonald, Larry Haswell, Karen Stewart, Kenny McDonald, Jerry McDonald, Carol Ann Sheppard, Doris Jones, Clydia Robinett, and Janice and Ray Gibson.

Funeral services were Saturday, February 17, 2007, officiated by Reverend Dennis McDonald and the eulogy given by special friend , Bob Kendricks at the Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, with interment in the Mission Burial Park South of San Antonio, Texas.



MILDRED J. PHELPS

Graveside services for Mildred J. Phelps, 86 of Minco were held on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 10 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco with Rev. David Mercer from the Minco United Methodist Church officiating under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.

Mildred J. Phelps was born January 10, 1921 at Rush Springs to Sam and Jessie Mae (Taylor) Greenroyd and died Friday, February 23, 2007 at Chickasha. She was a lifelong resident of Minco. Mildred married Patrick Henry Phelps, Sr. on July 2, 1938 at Grady/Caddo/Canadian County line. She was a homemaker, a membr of the Minco United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

Mildred was preceded in death by Parents; Husband: Patrick, Sr. on 7-10-1987; three sisters: Cynthia Hoven, Jerry Horn, and Babs Redding; three brothers: Melvin “Coot” Greenroyd, Glen Greenroyd, Sid Greenroyd; three half brothers: John Newman, Wesley Greenroyd, Sr. and Brady Greenroyd; one great grandson: Ryan Stroud; and a son-in-law: John David Wehling.

Mildred is survived by: One son and daughter-in-law: Patrick Jr. and Jerry Phelps of Ft. Cobb Lake; one daughter: Marilyn Wehling of Oklahoma City; two brothers: Haskell Greenroyd, Sr. of Minco, Wesley “Sonny” Jr. and Janice Greenroyd of Spencer; three sisters-in-law: Helen Greenroyd of Oklahoma City, Leona Fowler and Lou Phelps both of Minco; brother-in-law: Junior Horn of Minco; nine grandchildren; 21 Great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful care and support given by the staff at Glenhaven Assisted Living and Lifeline Hospice.

KAY (SCOTT) SMITH

Kay (Scott) Smith, 57, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2007 at her home in Chickasha after a short illness. Kay was born November 2, 1949, in Carnegie to Sylvan and Mildred (Dorrell) Scott. She graduated from Carnegie High School in 1967, where she was a cheerleader and played basketball. Kay owned and operated a beauty shop in Tuttle and Carnegie, called Kay’s Hairport. She lived in Carnegie 10 years and Tuttle 10 years before moving to Chickasha in 2000 to be near their grandchildren. Kay loved to travel with her husband, Dwight after his retirement. They traveled many states and Kay’s favorite place was the beach at Destin, Florida. Kay was a very special and remarkable woman who loved people and people loved her. She will be missed by so many people. Kay loved life. She was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church in Chickasha.

Survivors include her husband, Dwight of the home in Chickasha, OK; a daughter, Misti Battershell and husband, Brian, Chickasha, OK; two grandchildren, Brayden and Bailey Battershell, Chickasha, OK; two brothers, Don Scott and wife, Judy, Carnegie, OK Randy Scott and wife, Susan, Madisonville, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Scotty Scott and wife, Suzanne.

Funeral services were Thursday, February 22, 2007 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Carnegie, OK with Rev. Arthur Blount officiating.

Interment in Carnegie Cemetery, Carnegie, OK under the direction of Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK.



MARY NELL STUCKEY

Mary Nell Stuckey, 71, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Feb. 24, 2007.

She was born Sept. 6, 1935 in Kilgore, Texas to Estelle and James Doyle Byerly. Mary married James Dewey Stuckey on March 7, 1955, enjoying 52 years of marriage.

Mary had a strong Christian faith through her lifetime and enjoyed her family very much. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Jim (James) Stuckey; daughter, Susan Ford and husband John of Newcastle, Okla.; son, Brad Stuckey and wife Anissa of Tuttle, Okla.; and three grandchildren, Brandon Harris and wife Amanda; and Allison and Julia Stuckey.

She is also survived by her mother, Estelle Byerly, Atlanta, Texas; and her sister, Sylvia Combest, Atlanta, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Doyle Byerly; and her granddaughter, Brandi Harris.

The family would like to thank Dr. Russell Postier, and Russell-Murray Hospice for their wonderful care.

Open viewing is available daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard, Okla.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at True Oak Fellowship, 20 Worley Creek Dr., Tuttle, Okla. with interment following at Blanchard Cemetery in Blanchard under the direction of Pastor Ben Reid.
