KATHERYN MATHIS GREEN

Funeral services for Katheryn Mathis Green, 72, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at the Tuttle United Methodist Church.

Katheryn Mathis Green was born April 18, 1934, the last of eight children, in Atwood, Oklahoma the daughter of William Wesley and Mattie Elizabeth (McNutt) Mathis and died April 30, 2006.

Katheryn graduated from Atwood High School as Salutatorian in 1952. She and Lavoy Green were married April 17, 1954 in Allen, Oklahoma. She lived in Tuttle for 40 years. She participated in PTO when her daughters were in school, was a member of the Band Boosters, a member of the Tuttle United Methodist Church for 40 years, was past president of United Methodist Women as well as holding several offices on the State level. She was a “hostess with the mostest”, hosting many Christmas parties.

Katheryn retired from Sooner State Bank as a bank teller.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents: Wes and Mattie Mathis; four brothers: Mal Mathis, Lowell Mathis, Gus Dean “Toots” Mathis, and James “Bill” Mathis; two sisters: Margaret Mathis Christopher, Lucille Mathis Reeves.

Survivors include: Husband: Lavoy Green of the home; two daughters: Julie Green Bell and husband Wayne of Burleson, Texas, Jill Green Shouse and husband Danny of Edmond, Oklahoma; one sister: Ruth Mathis Jenkins of Holdenville, Oklahoma; Mother-in-law: Thelma Green of Sasakwa, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Jon, Jarod, and Jackson Bell, Katie Beth, Dani Jo and Seth Shouse.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.



SAMUEL W. BRENCE

Graveside services for Samuel W. Brence, 78 of McCloud, former Minco resident will be held Thursday, May 4, 2006, 2 pm at the Evergreen Cemetery in Minco with Rev. Paul Nix of Choctaw officiating under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.

Samuel W. Brence was born August 8, 1927 at Cloud Chief, Oklahoma to Harry and Betty (Craig) Brence and died Sunday, April 30 at his home in McCloud.

Mr. Brence was a high school graduate and attended barber college. He moved to Minco in 1959 then to Big Spring, Texas in 1988 and Hawkins, Texas in 1992, then settled in McCloud since 1998. He married Marcella Loganbill on August 10, 1947 in Cordell. He served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII and retired from the Federal Prison Systems in 1992. He was a member of the Harrah Senior Citizens.

Mr. Brence was preceded in death by his parents: Harry and Betty Brence; Wife: Marcella Brence on March 18, 2001; two sisters: Addie Mae Siemens and Faye Bynum.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Bob and Debbie Brence of Minco, Randy and Dee Dee Brence of Choctaw, Russell and Lisa Brence of Alexandria, Louisiana; one daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Bryan Mannion of Plano, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law: Ruby Nell and J.R. Clemments of Oklahoma City; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.



JACK LEROY BOBIER

Funeral services for Jack Leroy Bobier, age 82 of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held 1:30 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2006 in the First Baptist Church of Tuttle.

Jack Leroy Bobier was born February 20, 1924 to Roxie and Tom Bobier in Asher, Oklahoma. He died April 28, 2006 at his home in Tuttle.

Just out of Tuttle High School, he went to California and joined the Merchant Marines. In one incident at sea, he left the boiler room at 9:00. At 9:12 a German Torpedo sank the ship. The only ones killed were the three men remaining in the boiler room. He and ten other men were on a life raft for three days before they drifted to the shores of Cuba. They were thrown in jail overnight until the Cubans found out they were Americans. Jack served his country proudly for four years in the US Navy during WWII. He was on the USS Augusta Flag Ship when they stormed the beaches of Omaha and Utah of Nazi occupied Europe during the Normandy invasion. After the war, he was an airplane mechanic in Panama. He came back home and started laying brick. He was a bricklayer for many years. He taught at Moore Norman Vo Tech for seven years before his retirement. He was worshipful Master of the Tuttle Masonic Lodge. He loved hunting and fishing especially with his friend Johnnie and sons, Shane and Scott Charlson. He loved life and often said he would like to do it all over again. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play golf, wrestle, softball, baseball and soccer.

Those preceding him in death were his father and mother and sisters Juanita and Margaret.

Survivors include: His wife Dolores Bobier of the home in Tuttle; One son: Jackie Bobier and his wife Nancy of Tuttle; Two daughters: Terra Garrett of Tuttle, Sherri and husband Dr. Gordon Laird of Pawnee; Twin brother: Joe Bobier and wife Billie Lou of Oklahoma City and brother Tom Bobier of Oklahoma City; Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Robert and Marie Garrett, Gilman and Kay Burris, C.B. and Janet Burris and Gayland and Dee Burris; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
