TRUDY J. BOWEN

Funeral services for Trudy J. Bowen, 61, of Tuttle were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006 at Eagle Heights Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Services were under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Oklahoma City.



GARY LYNN CROY

Funeral services for Gary Lynn Croy, 58, of Oklahoma City, OK were held 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Meridian First Baptist Church with Rev. John Croy assisted by Rev. Rusty Canoy officiating.

Gary Lynn Croy was born June 9, 1945 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Clayton L. and Wanda (Burkhalter) Croy. He attended Comanche High School and graduated from Putnam City High School. He served in the US Air Force Reserve for six years. He was owner/operator of Croy Electronics in Oklahoma City, OK. Gary married Sharon Kaye Gibson on February 14, 1987 at Oklahoma City, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one step-daughter: Katherine Karlene Glover; one nephew: John Croy.

Survivors include wife Sharon Kaye of the home; one son: Clayton Croy of Oklahoma City; one daughter: Katie Lynn Croy of Oklahoma City, OK; one step-daughter: April and John Matchen of Tuttle, OK; four brothers: Larry and Diane Croy of Burkburnett, TX, John and Debby Croy of Duncan, OK, Leonard and Sharon Croy of Ada, OK, Roman and Dianne Petty of Duncan, OK; one uncle: Paul Croy of Comanche, OK; grandchildren: Stormy and Josh Wyatt, Tyler Glover, Brooke and Morgan Matchen, Shawn Croy.

MARGARET (BOWMAN) FARR

Margaret (Bowman) Farr of Tuttle, OK died Monday, August 7, 2006 in Oklahoma City, OK. Margaret was born on the Jim Tuttle Ranch north of Tuttle to Barney Leonidas and Lula Malcom Bowman on August 25, 1912. She started school in the fall of 1918 in a one room school building, Silver City, located two miles north of Tuttle. She went there four years until it was consolidated into Tuttle Schools. She then rode a bus to school.

She graduated from Tuttle High School in 1930 and from Draughn Business School, Oklahoma City, in 1936. She returned to Tuttle and worked for Sowers Grocery and also served as Tuttle City Clerk.

She married Walter Reed in 1942 and lived in Memphis where her daughter, Lynda, was born. She returned to Tuttle in 1947 and operated Bowman Variety Store with her parents. She married James M. Farr on July 29, 1954 in Tuttle and worked with him in his business Farr Wholesale. She and James moved to Okmulgee in 1970 where they resided for many years. They were both active in the Butler United Methodist Church. Margaret was also an active Volunteer at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. James and Margaret moved back to Tuttle in 1998. James passed away in 2000.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers: Clyde M. Bowman and James Frank Bowman; two sisters: Anna Bell Bowman and Jennie Bowman Bailey.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Lynda and husband, William Kruse, granddaughter, Jennifer and her husband, Phillip Hollecker and grandson, Brian Kruse, and two great granddaughters, Danielle and Bethany Hollecker. She is also survived by five loving nieces, one nephew, and several cousins.

The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for the care they gave Margaret.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2006 at the United Methodist Church in Tuttle. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery at Tuttle under the direction of the Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.



GLADYS IRENE LANGFORD

Gladys Irene Langford, 89, of Oklahoma City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday August 9, 2006 at her son’s home in Newcastle.

Gladys was born October 13, 1916 in Konawa, Okla. She was the 10th child of 11 children born to W. M. Morrison and Mary Alice James Morrison.

Gladys grew up a farm girl near Mounds, Okla. and graduated high school there in 1935. She later met and married Isham B. Manis. To this union, two sons were born, Ben and Steve. She made her home in the Lawton area for more than 40 years and had worked as a secretary for the North Side Baptist Church for many years.

Gladys was a diligent homemaker a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In 1966 she married Alton Langford and in 1995 they moved to the Oklahoma City area to be close to her sons. While living in Oklahoma City she was a faithful member of the Brookwood Baptist Church.

Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. In her later years she enjoyed oil painting.

She was preceded in death by:

Her husband, Alton Langford; her parents, W. M. and Mary Alice Morrison; 10 brothers and sisters; and two infant grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Ben Manis and wife Linda of Newcastle, Okla. and Steve Manis and wife Joyce of Tuttle, Okla.; five grandchildren, Darin and Susan Manis, Dustin and Mischelle Manis, Tanya and James Cook, Jeremie Manis and Krystal Manis; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006 at the Western Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City with Rev. Jimmy Hodges officiating. Burial followed at the Resthaven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle. Memorials may be made to the Jimmy Hodges Ministry at P.O. Box 75997, Oklahoma City, OK, 73147.



ROBERT “BOB” LEE LONG

Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Lee Long, 70, of Tuttle, Oklahoma were held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church of Tuttle.

Robert (Bob) Lee Long was born March 4, 1936 in Tuttle, Oklahoma the son of George W. and Virginia Mae (Evans) Long and died August 13, 2006 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Bob graduated from Tuttle High School. He and Billie June Hardesty were married August 14, 1955 in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Bob was a farmer and cattleman. He was a member of the FFA, First United Methodist Church, and the Maine Anjou Association.

Bob was preceded in death by: Parents; Stepfather: Bud Grimes; two Brothers: Richard Long and Max Long.

Survivors include: Wife: Billie June Long of the home; three Daughters: Kathy Faulkner and husband George of Streetman, Texas, Mary Wilson and husband Tommy of Oklahoma City, Kelly Baker and husband Glenn of Tuttle; one Son: William Robert Long and wife Laurie of Slapout, Oklahoma; one Sister: Nell Jones of Tuttle; Grandchildren: Adam and Emily Baker, Rebecca Seely, Chris, Cory and Amy Long, Dallas and Stephanie Faulkner, Shane Long; Great Grandchildren: Keeley Long, Mollie and Jake Long, Whitney Seely; Nephews: Mack Long and wife Connie of Huson, Montana and numerous other nieces and newphews.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Church building fund, P O Box 190, Tuttle, OK 73089.



ERIC SCOTT HUFFINE WORD

Funeral service for Eric Scott Huffine Word, 37, of Oklahoma City was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, 2006 in the First Baptist Church of Tuttle.

Eric Scott Huffine Word was born August 29, 1968 in Stockton, Calif. He died Saturday August 5, 2006 in Oklahoma City. He was the son of Richard and Mary Carolyn Huffine Word. He had lived in Woodward, Tuttle, Norman and Oklahoma City for many years.

Eric worked for the Oklahoma State Health Department as Supervisor in Shipping and Receiving. He adored his grandparents and loved his cat “Meek.”

His grandparents Lucille Huffine, Idys Frank Turner, Anna Turner and Marshall Word preceded him in death.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Carolyn Huffine Word Roller of Harlingen, Texas; his father, Richard Word of Oklahoma City; one brother, Joshua Word and his wife Veronica of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Kirsten Word of Harlingen, Texas; one niece, Emily Word of San Diego, Calif.; grandparents, H.V. Huffine and wife Joan of LaFeria, Texas and Elta Word of Oklahoma City; an aunt, Becky Ernest and husband Melvin of Norman; three uncles, Jimmy Finley Huffine of Grapevine, Texas, Bill Turner and wife Lou of Tuttle, and Bill Word and wife Janie of Enid; three great aunts, Eletha Jessup of Tuttle, Norma Ruth White of Noble, Okla. and Lucille Anna Huffine of Lawton, Okla.; great uncle, Jim Huffine of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and numerous cousins and friends.

Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, Okla. under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home of Tuttle.
