THELMA M. BROWNEN HOOKER
Funeral services for Thelma M. Brownen Hooker, 88, of Chickasha, Oklahoma were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 30, 2006 in the Sowers Memorial Chapel, Tuttle.
Thelma M. Brownen Hooker was born January 2, 1918 in Tuttle, Oklahoma the daughter of George and Maggie (Conley) Wampler and died September 27, 2006 in Chickasha.
Mrs. Hooker lived in Grady County all of her life. She was a hairstylist and beautician. Mrs. Hooker owned and operated Thelma’s Beauty Shop in Chickasha from 1947-2004. She was a member of the Alex United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by: First husband: Clifford Brownen in 1967; second husband: Gus Hooker; two brothers: George Wampler and Hart Wampler. Survivors include: one son: Bob Brownen of Chickasha; four grandchildren: Marty Brownen, Sheryll Rodgers Brownen, Chuck Brownen, and Shelly Knox; five great grandchildren: Chad Brownen, Kyle Brownen, Krayton Rodgers, Katie Knox, and Alex Knox; one great great grandchild: Braeli Brownen; four sisters: Helen Joslin, Dorothy Baker, Pauline Martin, and Margueritte Novotny; one brother: Lon Wampler.
Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Tuttle, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
