The Tuttle High School Spanish Club along with FCCLA is working to support the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. This event will be held at the Blanchard park Friday, May 4, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Someone from both the Spanish Club and FCCLA will be walking around the track all night.
The goal of the clubs is to raise $3,000 for the American Cancer Society. Camps will be set up and decorated to fit this year’s theme, “Heroes.”
Members of the Spanish Club and FCCLA will be selling “In memory of” and “In honor of” cards for $1 each to be put on the walls in the school as a way to recognize cancer victims, survivors, and donors to the cause.
They are also selling “In memory of” and “in honor of” luminaries that will light the path and campsite of the Relay for Life event. These will sell for $5 each.
Businesses or individuals can purchase a “We support the American Cancer Society” poster to be displayed at the high school during Relay for Life Week and also be displayed at the Relay Event itself for a donation of $25 or more.
Members and school offices will have official donation forms that can be used for tax purposes.
Order forms for the cards and luminaries and donation forms will be sent home in Wednesday folders before Relay for Life Week, set for April 23-27. You can also pick up a form in any Tuttle school office.
All checks should be made out to: The American Cancer Society.
If you have any questions, please call Janet Phipps or Kari Lollis at the high school at 381-2396.
