Tigers win dual matches

The Tiger Wrestling Team hosted the Tecumseh Savages and the Harrah Panthers for a double dual last week. From the beginning of the first whistle, the Tigers dominating power was evident as one bout after another revealed their opponents were no match for the Tigers. The duals ended with a Tiger victory 79-0 and a 62-12, respectively.

The Tigers would cap off the week with First Place Team Championship in the Greg Henning Invitational racking up 297.5 team points. Second place would be awarded the Newkirk with 186.5 team points and third place to Comanche with 179.5 team points.

The Tigers would bring home five gold medalists. In the 112 pound bracket, Colton Roberts won a 3-2 decision over Jon Townsend of Comanche. In the 130 pound bracket, Seth Hutchison won a 6-0 decision over Joseph Leven of Newkirk. In the 135 pound bracket, Dallas Gracey won an 8-3 decision over DJ Boles of Tuttle. In the 140 pound bracket, Dylan Coppenbarger won a 3-2 decision over Tanner Southerland of Marlow and in the 171 pound bracket, Jake Simpson won a 5-1 decision over Isaac Green of Madil.

The Tigers would also bring home four Silver placers; 103 pound Gunner Lafoon, 135 pound DJ Boles, 160 pound Jerrod Williams and Shane Woods who had to injury default in the 215 pounds match.

Wrestlers who placed third were 119-pound Brody Spencer, 125-pound Trent Cantu, 145-pound Zachary Beard, 189-pound Matthew Hagar and 275- pound Brandon Cox.

Other Wrestler who placed were 119-pound Austin Elam fifth, 152-pound Jake Pierce sixth, 189-pound Kiowa Riggs sixth and 275-pound Nathan Jackson sixth.

The Tigers will be hosting Anadarko on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m.
