Last Thursday the Drama Club preformed the play Makin’ It. The play is about a diverse group of students trying to make it through high school and everyday life. High school isn’t just about going to class and making good grades, there are people who change themselves to impress the higher class, there is bullying of the not so strong, and there are the jocks who people think are unintelligent.
The cast included: seniors Krislyn Gottman, Kelsey Hostetter, Jeremiah Huff, Nathan Holiday, Danielle Dobie, Melody Dobbins, and Chris Weaver, juniors Kayci Stockstill, Ross Johnson, Ashley Shipley, Marin Burns, Michael Mitchell, Trey Delno, and Shay Peterson, sophomores Mia Cantu, Joshua Hagar, Adam Bryant, Amber Brooks, and Kevin Gottman and freshmen Brooke Wilhite, Brytt Roberts, Chelsea McEwin, Britney Newman, and Jake Mincey.
Senior Kelsey Hostetter played the role of Brooke, who was trying to fit in with the popular group because she was tired of being a zero. Senior Krislyn Gottman played the role of Jen, the girl who wasn’t trying to impress anybody because it doesn’t matter who you are in high school, it’s who you become after.
Junior Trey Delno was Vince Carnelli, principal of Dwight D. Eisenhower High School. He cared more about the students than he did just the school in general. Senior Chris Weaver, who is portrayed as a brainless jock turned out to be an intelligent heartthrob and gets the girl who helped bring out his intellectual side.
The students at Tuttle High School were well receptive of the performance done by their peers.
Sophomore Tara Williams said, “The play was well performed and it portrayed what students really go through.”
