The Tuttle Times

Katie Lynn Howland and Bobby Dwain Smith were married on July 22 at the beautiful Thunderbird Chapel in Norman. The ceremony took place at 7 p.m. with Rev. Dylan Cole officiating.

Katie is the daughter of Karen Howland and the late Jerry Howland of Blanchard. She is granddaughter of Lavona Warmoth of Blanchard and Denver Howland of Springboro, Ohio.

Bobby is the son of Beckie Pendley of Blanchard and Robert Smith of Amber. He is grandson of Georgia Emberling of Blanchard and Grace Hubble of Norman.

The bride wore a beautiful strapless dress embellished with a ribbon, brooch, and intricate beading. Katie also complimented the cathedral length dress with a simple tiara.

The bride had one bridesmaid, her sister Kearsten. Her best friend, Ryann Paxson was her maid of honor. The bride’s uncle, Gary Trent, of Waynesville, Ohio escorted her down the isle. The groom’s lifelong friend, Chris Bell, served as the best man along side J. Cooper and Mike Cannon as groomsmen.

Niece of the groom, Katrina Williams, and cousin of the bride, Cooper Swearingen, served as flower girl and ring bearer. Chris Vanderwys was the usher.

After the honeymoon in the Riviera Maya in Mexico, the couple will reside in Newcastle. They are both full-time students at OSU-OKC.

The bride and groom are pursuing degrees in sonography and nursing respectively. Also, Bobby works security at the Riverwind Casino and Katie works for Scott Cleaners.
